Mean, Median & Range with Lists

The Desmos trick

Type a data set as a list using curly braces, then use Desmos's built-in statistics functions — mean(), median(), and stdev() — to get the answer in one line, with range computed as max() minus min().

• Type a list with curly braces: L = {4, 8, 2, 9, 5}
• mean(L) and median(L) return the average and median instantly
• stdev(L) returns the standard deviation
• There's no built-in range function — type max(L) - min(L) directly
